The Digital Excellence Award recognizes companies and organizations from Switzerland and Liechtenstein that have increased their competitiveness or performance thanks to (digital) initiatives and projects.

The Digital Excellence Award Commercial recognizes companies that have increased their competitiveness thanks to (digital) initiatives and projects.

The jurors

In total, more than 40 jurors are examining the ideas, projects and companies at the Digital Economy Award. In each category,  specialists are involved in the analysis and evaluation of the entries. For each category, the expert group is chaired by one jury president.

Bramwell Kaltenrieder

Berner Fachhochschule / Exploit Management Advisory

Bramwell Kaltenrieder has held leading positions in the Internet business since the late 1990s - among others at Pixelpark, Orange 8 and Goldbach Interactive and as a member of the Goldbach Group Executive Board. Today he is Professor of Digital Business at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Bramwell Kaltenrieder was previously jury president of the «Swiss Digital Transformation Award» of «Best of Swiss Web».

Christophe Nicolas

Kudelski Group

Christophe Nicolas received a BSc and Master's in Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and a MBA (Hons) from IMD in Lausanne. He has been with the Kudelski Group since 1996 and has held positions with Nagracard, Nagravision and is the Founder of Kudelski Security. Currently he is Senior Vice-President and Group Chief Information Officer of the Kudelski Group and Member of the Management Board and in charge of overall information strategy, enterprise digital transformation and corporate security. Since 2019, he is also Group Head of Corporate Real Estate Management. Since 2020, Nicolas is member of the Executive Committee of DigitalSwitzerland, and is also member of the IEEE Computer Group.

In 1991, he assumed leadership of the renamed Noser Engineering AG. Since then, he has built the company into one of the leading service companies in technical computer science. In 2006, he received an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen. Thanks to his knowledge, he covers a broad range of technologies and industries.

He subsequently realised his dream of assuming leadership responsibilities as CIO and member of the executive committee of Basel Mediengruppe. Before leading the international market for METAGroup and Gartner IT, he helped shape the internet boom as COO of Pixelpark (Switzerland) AG. Today, he works as a Business Area Manager in an international consulting firm (ERNI Consultants), has established himself as an author and speaker in the Swiss ICT industry, and has a national and international network of contacts.
