Digitalization in the canton of Zug does not just mean tools and technology, but a different mindset and the courage to embrace cultural change. With "Digital Zug," the Canton of Zug is driving forward the digital transformation in the administration with a clear focus. The focus is not only on technology but on people and organizations. Precisely, projects and initiatives are planned in the area of cultural change, process optimization, and technological progress. These will make life easier for the population, the economy, and the employees of the canton and offer people substantial added value.

For organizations, digitization is not just about tools and technology. Digitization also means new ways of thinking and the courage to embrace cultural change. This is the convincing vision of our winner in the Digital Excellence NPO & Government category. We are talking about Digital Zug - or rather, the canton of Zug.
With Digital Zug, the canton has created a wide range of digital offerings for the canton's administration and residents. The jury was impressed by how it managed to cover diverse topics - from the road traffic office to the tax office - and put all offices online for the population. A broad bouquet of digital offerings was put together: On Digital Zug, each office can realize its own initiatives and at the same time contribute to the big picture. Processes and transactions that are still conducted on paper elsewhere have been simplified and optimized online thanks to technological progress.
Digital Zug is strongly focused on the benefit of society: Here, Zug residents can easily get in touch with their administration and conduct their business. With the "Customer Chair," a strong symbolism has been established to represent the residents' perspective. Getting teams with their very own cultures excited about a digital project in a public administration requires a strong vision. The canton of Zug had this. There, the digital team led the way with a lot of energy, courage for vision, and persuasiveness and was able to inspire all offices to work together to drive forward a digital transformation.
The result is a resilient system that is supported by everyone. And offers the residents of the canton a benefit - and perhaps also a stronger bond. A digital platform that helps the canton's population and its administration to to simplify, to realize, to strengthen and to connect. This is what our winning project has achieved.
