Digital Innovation of the Year
×
Since 2018, the SV Group has been systematically driving forward the digitalisation of communal catering under the ‘smartChef’ initiative. This ambitious transformation involves the complete standardisation and digitalisation of all operational processes, from the procurement of ingredients to the payment process. Thousands of recipes for our chefs have now been stored in the smartChef database, which not only makes it easier to plan and calculate menus, but also enables the automatic publication of ingredients and allergens. An outstanding feature is the evaluation of each menu with regard to its ‘eco score’ and CO2 impact and, in future, also with regard to the ‘health score’. smartChef supports purchasing with an intuitive ordering platform that bundles all suppliers and integrates the inventory process. It also simplifies the allocation of subsidies and cost centre payments. Catering and event planning are handled via an ERP-integrated online shop, which significantly simplifies the process for guests and employees. Holistic data collection from the planning stage to the point of sale enables unique evaluations in our data warehouse, supported by secure, scalable and user-friendly systems. smartChef therefore represents a decisive step towards sustainable and efficient digitalisation, from which everyone involved benefits in the long term.
"SmartChef" solution is a ground breaking improvement for SV's catering division and transform the process from purchasing to closing&reporting, offering a standardize and sustainable digital process. The Jury found the solution impressive in a sector where digital innovation is still too rare. The solution is then retained as finalist.
